The name you see for every user in the portal is called the display name. It is not unique and can be changed by the user or by an administrator. There are no restrictions on the frequency of changes; you could change it every week if you wanted to. The display name is flexible. You can use just about any combination of characters and spaces to make a memorable display name. So if your name is X ร A-12 Musk, you can use your name as the display name with no worries.
How do I change my display name?
- Go to My Account, found by clicking on your user avatar in the upper right corner of the page header and selecting My Account.
- The My Account page has a collapsible sidebar menu. Click on the Expand menu icon to expose your user profile image, display name and email address.
- Below the image is the display name. You can click on it to edit the name and then save your changes.
How can I change someone else’s display name?
- You must be an administrator with permission to manage users to change any user’s display name.
- In the admin portal, go to the Users page, search for the user and open the user details page.
- Enter the desired display name in the display name field and save your changes.
