Removing the unwanted slate and dead air at the beginning and end of the video should be the first step in the post-production editing process. The trim editor is an easy way to do that because the video is already in the cloud and ready to be edited. Once you have trimmed the video, you can create captions if they have not already been extracted or created.

If you already have captions and cue points for the video, they will be trimmed along with the video so that the timing remains consistent.

NOTE: If you revert a trimmed video to an earlier version, you will have a choice between keeping the current captions and cue points and applying them to the previous version (useful if the timing would be the same) or deleting the captions and cue points, in which case you will have to regenerate the files. If you choose to delete, we recommend downloading the caption and the cue point files so that you can upload them for the version you revert to, and then shift the timing.
